The Insituto mission is to create, aggregate and transform intellectual capital in engineering in photonic material capital in order to generate technology, property, economic growth, jobs and welfare for the society.

The focus of the Institute is the introduction of innovations in the market, which stimulates the formation of the productive chain of the photonics industry in Brazil.

The organization of the Institute aims to accelerate the arrival of the social and economic development of photonics society, through activities of R & D, integration of the various actors of the photonics industry, and technological support and market the TBCs.

Photonics is the dominant technology in the near future to create a wide variety of products for different sectors of society such as telecommunications, medical, security, information processing, displays and general industry.
